Bhaktapur, the third largest city in the Kathmandu Valley, is often referred to as the cultural city because of the traditional Newari culture and many cultural heritage sites. Bhaktapur was once the capital of the entire Valley and has now become the cleanest city in the Valley.Located at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level, the cultural city is home to traditional arts and architecture, pottery and weaving industries, local people ‘s rich local customs and cultures.

Bhaktapur is also famous for its woodcarving artists as well as typical cap and curd.The town has become one of the main tourist attractions in the Kathmandu Valley with its architectural and cultural values. Colorful festivals, ancient temples and monuments of cultural , historical and architectural significance have enhanced its tourist value. The city is about 14 kilometers east of Kathmandu‘s capital city.
